1200s rearsets
Hi all.
Tempted by a 2016 1200s I’ve seen. But the footpegs bother me. I never ride pillion and would want them gone. I’ll also be putting an SC Project single can on. Does anyone know of a way to swap out the pegs and support the can? I’ve seen a 2018 model which makes this simpler, but it’s in black and I want a red 1200 :-) |

Hi Andrew
I've got German MR Footrests rearsets on my Evo so, when a friend of mine said he was thinking of getting a Monster 1200S but didn't like the stock footrests either, I found these for him. (He's not got the bike yet so I can't give you any first-hand feedback on the footrests themselves but the ones I have are really well designed and beautifully machined.) I'm not 100% sure they would fit the bike you're looking at as the website says they are up to (and including?) 2016. Best to check with MR themselves. https://www.mr-motorradtechnik.com/e.../%22D%20240%22 They come with a separate exhaust hanger, which is quite neat. Note that you have to send them your original footrest mounting plates in exchange. Based on my experience with the Evo, I'll say that, if I were going to buy a 1200S, these are the footrests that I'd fit. |

1200R footrest assemblies will fit, they do come up on eBay every so often

Or... just get a 2018 Monster and I don’t have to worry :-)
That exhaust hanger is nice. That I would have to worry about. Test ride tomorrow unless this storm gets worse. |

That exhaust hanger is available separately for €179.
Hope you do get to try the M1200 (I think the worst of the weather should have passed you by by tomorrow). Don't forget to let us have your riding impressions if you do. |
