Scuffed plastic tank
Hi
I have a black 1100 which is 4 months old with 2,500km on the clock. The problem is the scuff marks left by my leathers and Ducati Tank bag. This surface wear to the plastic finsh seems premature, because I am not doing anything out of the ordinary. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Your thoughts would help me before I approach my dealer.. |

Take that right back!!! 4 months!!!
I must admit I put that grippy mat stuff under tank bags or luggage to help prevent such things or rubbing.. But that's not good . No go back they can only say no.. I wouldn't faff about just take it in and say this is unfit for purpose .. Paints crap., |

I cant say mine is doing the same but I can see under light that where my knees are. It seems to polish out on the white covers and would never notice as much as yours. I reckon they wont do anything about it but if they do full credit and if I was you I would get some see through vinyl or helicopter tape I think they call it on the knee areas.

My tailpack with its rubber base managed to leave some nice scratches on the seat cowl before too long, I look after it but there's a few unexplainable marks on the tank too. To be honest I think it's just the quality of the Ducati paint that's the problem, don't even want to think about what my engine looks like at the moment
Hope you can get it sorted out anyway, let us know if anything happens! |
