Ti calliper bolts.
I've just received some lovely Ti bolts for my front callipers @M10 x 1.5 x 25 which I ordered as my Ducati manual states the tread as M10 x 1.5.. But sadly not so!!
Carefully measuring the thread pitch on the original bolts reveals they are M10 x 1mm. Searching everywhere finds loads of M10 x 1.25 bolts, but no way can I find M10 x 1. Can anyone confirm that the Brembo Goldline calliper to fork leg bolts are 1mm pitch? Where can I get the right socket head Ti bolts? I'm after straight, not tapered heads. Also has anyone got a use for 4 M10 x 1.5 x 25 Ti bolts... Very shiny.

Must’ve changed to the 1.5mm pitch at some point. My Evo is standard 1.5mm and fitted with Ti calliper bolts.
You could try Westfield fasteners. They mostly deal in SS tho. But probably worth a quick google. Or possibly race Ti or desmoworld. |

Well ...
I've always assumed my calipers to be "Goldlines" although they bear no identifying label. They are 4 piston type with different sized pistons .. I think 34mm and 30mm on each side. And they are gold coloured.. Anyway .. My (genuine Ducati) manual (for yr2001 M750) claims that the bolts are M10x1.5 I've just whipped one out and it is .... M10x1.25 For the sake of clarity, my method to measure the pitch was to count the number of threads over a measured 10mm of bolt ... there were 8 threads. Confused ? To be honest, although I can appreciate that a fairly fine thread (M10x1.25) would be used in this situation to maximise its locking security, this is a steel bolt in aluminium threads and so an ultra-fine (M10x1.0) pitch seems likely to be overly prone to stripping, particularly given the recommended 43Nm torque setting that my manual states. Are you sure that yours are M10x1.0 ? |

I have a pair of Brembo Goldline calipers that were originally on my 916, they are the older 40mm spaced mounts and are threaded M10 x 1.5, I don't know if later (65mm?) used a finer thread?
My Monster has radial mount forks/calipers which use M10 x 1.25, as does my 916 but these thread into the forks rather than the caliper. I would have thought 1.25mm would be used in favour of 1mm (a thread pitch used on brembo bleed valves) for the reason Utopia mentions above.

If I recall correctly: the bolts for 40mm mount caliper was 1.5 and the 65mm mount was 1.25.
I could be wrong because its been a long time since I installed axial calipers myself... later fitments went back to 1.5 I have never seen Ducati fitment Brembo's with 1.0mm thread except on the bleed nipples & banjo bolts Unsure if other (Guzzi, Aprillia etc) who also fitted those calipers as OEM used 1.0mm thread

Thank you to everyone who has pointed me in the right direction, especially Jeff for taking a bolt out of his bike and measuring.
So I calmed down after work this afternoon and washed a caliper bolt then measured it about a dozen times, finally counting 20mm of thread to give me a better chance of accuracy until I counted 16 threads several times confidently to establish that it certainly is 1.25 as it should be.. Sorry to get you guys at it but it was driving me nuts! So I'm sorted now thanks, with the proper bolts ordered from RSMoto Titanium. I also got my caliper pinch bolts from them, which are also Ti and the proper low head jobbies too. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-74...8AAOSwrIRe~Hbm So yes Kato, I knew that the banjos and bleed nipples are 1mm pitch so that gave the 1mm pitch caliper bolts credibility in my head. So if it is the case that the 40mm spacing calipers are 1.5 pitch then my now spare set should fit those, although I believe they are 35mm long and not 25? So if anyone can use them for a tenner posted they are yours. Still can't really forgive the Ducati workshop manual for telling me they are M10x1.5. It does beg the question; is the torque figure correct for the 1.25 pitch bolts?

I gave mine 30 ft.lbs which is a tad under. It felt about right On the bolts, I seem to recall that the swingarm spindle pinch bolts are 10mm for the ally arm. Maybe your manual will list their pitch .. and perhaps you could use them there ? If the manual is correct, that is. My manual only lists the bolts for my original steel arm. |

Good call Jeff, my manual does say they are M10x1.5 but I will have to pop one out to check the length. I can't even remember if there are two bolts in the arm or two pairs?
Come to think of it the torque on the caliper bolts has always felt a bit too much and they have always needed a good heave to get them out even though I never use locktite on them.
