Erik Buell @ Buell & Italian Festival, 29-05-17.
Big news for next year’s Buell and Italian Motorcycle event on Spring Bank Holiday Monday 29th May - Erik Buell will attend as our guest of honour! Erik very rarely visits the UK or mainland Europe so this is a real coup for us.
See these topics on the UK Buell Enthusiasts Group website for additional information: Event general discussion topic: http://www.ukbeg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21891 Event information resource including downloads etc: http://www.ukbeg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21892 Taken from the press release we sent out in October: Event title: UKBEG Emma Radford Memorial Buell/EBR & Italian Motorcycle Festival (Em’s Day) Event location: Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre (LAHC) East Kirkby Spilsby Lincolnshire PE23 4DE Event timings: 10.00am to 5.00pm. Admission charge for motorcycle riders and pillion passengers is £10.00 per adult. Event location website: http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk Event details: Organised by Chris & Jane Jessop (founders of the UK Buell Enthusiasts Group in April 1998) this will be the 14th event held at this location dedicated to the memory of Emma Jane Radford, Buell rider and UKBEG member, who passed away 22nd April 2004, aged 26. The event raises funds for the Papworth Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Unit that looked after Emma. We’ve risen over £74,000 to date. Emma’s Charity website: https://www.justgiving.com/Emma-Radford-ukbeg Erik Buell will be our guest of honour and Buell/EBR enthusiasts from the UK and mainland Europe will attend the event. The event features classic WW2 aircraft flying displays and LAHC Avro Lancaster taxi-run displays. In addition to Buell/EBR American motorcycles there will be Italian motorcycles and our special guests the Vincent Owners Club. Shame that, but if any UKMOC members do want to come along they'll be made very welcome.
I hope your event goes well and hopefully we'll catch up with you guys in 2018. |

Hmmm.
Well I did wonder, James ...as a self-proclaimed high mileage kind of guy ...whether you might fancy a coast to coast run on the Monday morning. But then I remembered that I have a half-hatched plan to buzz up to Liverpool and see if there are any cancellation TT ferry tickets to be had. Shame, yes. I have a deal of respect for Erik Buell for his bravely innovative design. But maybe our lack of attendance in 2017 will promote a bumper attendance in 2018 ? |

I intend to go to the weekender but I will heading home on Sunday, so there is a chance I will make it to East Kirkby if I'm not too saddle sore.... One of the nicest meets of the year... Always something of interest what with all the planes and Italian bikes.
The AJS&MOC had a Sunrise to Sunset run about thirtyish years ago. It went from Ness point in Lowestoft (UK's Easternmost point) to the most Westerly point, which I think was in Pembrokeshire? I followed them from Lowestoft to Wisbeckistan, which amounted to pretty much the width of Norfolk. They camped both ends and it took most of the daylight hours in midsummer on their old plonkers. Food for thought innit? I'm up for it... Could be a larf...

To be pedantic Western most point is Dr Syntax's Head, Land's End, Cornwall at 50°04′N 5°43′W, western most point in Wales is Grassholm, Pembrokeshire at 51°43′N 5°29′W...close but no cucumber...

It was a very long time ago DrD and I can't remember where the end point was and I am sure your geography is correct... Maybe they just went due West as far as they could?
I will see if I can dig out my old Jampots and find out... Not that it matters.... Just suggesting a run...
