uksurfers 796

After getting rid of my S4 earlier this year, i was looking round at another Monsters,i thought it was time to try a new one.
I had already owned a 600 Dark, it was my first one, so i ended up looking at new bikes, after having a test ride on the 796 at MOB day in Belgium, i came back and booked a test ride on one at Moto Rapido.
As I took off down the A272 towards loomies cafe, i realised how much fun these lighter bikes are, i had a great test ride and ordered one a couple of days later.
Andrew the sales guy at MR was more than helpful and i ordered a body kit for it at the same time.

I have fitted a tail tidy now and am awaiting delivery of a new exhaust, only done 300 miles so am hoping to get the first service out the way and use the throttle a little bit more.

Here she is (pictures courtesy of Gordon H)

That looks superb, I'm hoping to get the IOM 78 kit next Spring. Hope you have many happy miles on it, the new ones do grow on you

Stuff that... come over and get it ACF50'd (clicky) - Eleanor had hers done last year and there's barely any corrosion on it at all despite having about 15k on the clock.

its alot lighter than the S4, handles easier as you dont have to heave it out of corners, it does fly round corners and it gives alot of confidence on the angle. its alot of fun, but hasnt got the grunt, but weighing alot less and only 13hp down i think.
It will be more interesting when its run in, and the new exhaust is fitted, as the demo i took out had me grinning

Yes, the R1 is still in the garage

Really like the colour scheme. I'm toying with the idea of a newer scheme on the S2R at some point and this one is high on the list

enjoy mate

So now you understand the virtues of a lightweight motorcycle.

No point having a lightweight bike if you're not a lightweight yourself, that's why I don't bother!

I love that bike you put up GT.

It's looking good Martin...

But just wait till you get the new exhaust fitted...

Then it will really look the "Dog's"...

Trust me...

Good to have you back in the fold and she is very nice

I have a can of AC50 in the garage - as the bike is so clean you should be able to apply yourself very easily - there are lots of threads on it from last year

PS much prefer following you on the monnie than the R1 (or should I say much easier at the moment lets wait until its run in thought )
