Manchester/Lancs/Yorks Ride
Hope that didn't confuse anyone ! .... multi region post !! As the weather is dictating much of our activities at the moment, we may have a window of opportunity on Sunday 18th, so here is the plan folks.
Meet up at Bolton Abbey, this is off the A59. Ride North on the B6160 up to Leyburn then back South A6180 towards Rippon, heading back via the scenic route and Pateley Bridge. It would be great if folk can meet and join on the route, especially those who dont get to meet other members often, This is all of course subject to the weather !! Plan is to head North, Join Chris en route and head towards Bolton Abbey for say 11:30 ish. There appears to be some tea rooms nearby at Snid wood as a meet up place ? Let us know if you are up for it and we can agree times with folk, fingers crossed |

Hi Mike, the Abbey Tea Rooms is just off the A59 on the road to Bolton Abbey & there is a decent car park so it might be the easiest point to congregate. It's about 2 hours from here if you and anyone else want to head this way for a quick bite before heading east

Yorkshire tea
Well, what a fantastic day out guys, something different for us, new territory, BRD, great to see you and thanks for leading us through some amazing routes.
Ill post a pic or two tomorrow, in recovery mode now......Chianti bottle has already gone, just "found" a pino Grigio", anyway I digress, paul(BRD) suggests we do it all again before the end of the season, yes please! Brilliant meet up location, thanks Chris, at the abbey tea rooms, amazingly quiet considering the location, route was amazing, we arrived at places en route about 5 minutes after heavy rain, roads wet and flooded but not raining, ( bike still filthy though ). Paul , please rest assured I will not hold it against you that you appear to have got the last broccoli soup ........ But I will make sure I am at least one in front in the queue next time. Members in Yorkshire, please come to the next one, we had a blast and what you have over there..inYorkshire...is amazing! Thanks for a great day out.......And relax! Ps as a foot note, Mark and I his some severe weather south of Ormskirk, everything leaked !,,,, my kit is Ixs and rst, is this normal? , waterproof it Ain't! Sounds like a good run out. Unfortunately i’ve made plans. Bikes often gather at the sun inn, if you end up on the pately bridge to otley road. ( just be careful on gravel in car park).
I’ll do a sun dance for you. Ride safe. |

Cheers Damien, there have been some road closures up in the Leyburn area I believe due to...well basically bridges being washed away ! How is it looking at the moment?

If you’ve not tried it already and it’s a warm day, Brymor ice cream makes a good pit stop. https://brymordairy.co.uk/ |

Hoping to tag along - weather dependent of course! These old bones don't like cold & wet (unless it's a gin & tonic of course).
