Bar end mirrors - any suggestions?

Hi,

I’ve had a set of bar end mirrors in the past but they were a bit poor to be honest. They constantly vibrates loose or blew out of position at 69mph. Has anyone any suggestions on decent ones please?
I’m guessing the Monster handlebar will have a standard size internal dimension? I can’t measure it as I’m stuck at work for the ‘foreseeable future’ and can’t get home, sadly.

They’re a replacement set as the originals were buggered but using the same mounts. I don’t recall a massive snag getting a different size so I’m inclined to think they’re the standard (7/8”?) size?

Best to take a bar end out and measure with a micrometer. The standard bars come in a couple of different wall thicknesses, plus aftermarket may be different again. Depending what fitting the weights are, the fixings may not be easy to remove either: best check.

I have the Oberon mirrors on my M900. They really are excellent. No appreciable vibration to affect the quality of the rear view and a decent field of vision behind. Nicely made with lots of options for how they are angled. Yes they are more expensive than cheap mirrors but worth the extra to me. Also I happen to like the way they look on the bike .

I've had bar end mirrors on my monster for a couple of years, cheap and cheerful off e-bay . Been spot on and don't move and are blur free, unlike the standard fit ones on my street 765RS .

Likewise, good thing is they fold in/out, returning to the set position with a 'click' so can make the bike narrow with no fiddling to adjust back for use and they give great rear vision despite the small size.

I have bar-end mirrors on the Alazzurra, but stalked mirrors on all the other bikes. What I don't like about bar-ends is that you have to look away from the road to use them. Oh and you can't check your elbows are still there!

I had an oberon one a few years ago and from memory there was a choice of bar size when ordering. Good quality but expensive. I found it too small, 2.5" glass didn't give much of a rear view for my liking.

I think I may have a brand new set kicking about that I decided not to fit. If you're interested I can see if I can dig them out? They're not Oberon or Rizoma or anything fancy but they looked decent enough.

They look and feel well made, don't vibrate and give a good view behind. There are a couple of different sized sleeves to suit different i/d bars

I've just clinked on your link and they do look nice - however they're showing as a list price of over a thousand pounds!

If they're your idea of 'cheap(ish) I'd hate to ask what you normally pay for mirrors!
