The serious guys are extremely fast on the down hill runs there and very serious about it too.
Not without it's fatalities though

I ran out of petrol on my Ajay at the top of Cheddar Gorge one night.
I also had a camping trailer on the back, so no way I was pushing it anywhere!.. No matter it was all down hill anyway. It's quite something to be hauling on the brakes at 50mph+ to crank it round the hairpins on the Gorge.. In near total silence! Interesting though to be stretching the throttle cable on the exits of the bends, to no effect!
