New Member in Kent

Hi all, just bought my first Ducati after riding for more years than I can rember. I've just got the new 821 Stipe. Only done 100 miles so just pottering around in touring mode at the moment.
I was told when I picked it up I wouldn't get nuteral when stationary untill it beds in, and they were right, I guess this is normal!! Also I'd like to bend the ends of the mirrors down so I can see but seems they only bend in or out. Other than that alls good.

Thanks JP, did you have any problems with selecting nuteral when new and how long did it take to wear in so you could find it?

Welcome Pete, it doesn't take long for the neutral thing, most of it is feel too, as to the mirrors, I bought some end bar mirrors, could see more. Just changed bikes and will be looking at options as the OEM mirrors on teh new Monsters are awful, unless someone can tell us how to set them up. The up and down bit you need to slacken the Allen bolt to move the whole mirror around, the right hand mirror is opposite thread though.

As JP said we are active in Kent and have a breakfast meet the second Sunday each month, usually at Micky's diner on Bluebell hill.

saying that some will be away in Belgium next weekend and I am away.

Yes, but it'll Wear in a bit. You have to be quite gentle with it, and the classic of a gentle rock forward will help the gear slip into place if you're having trouble. Or pop it into neutral just before you stop.

It will easy. Just slam the gears up and down a bit to wear all those sharp edges off.

I did find, and it might just be me, that slicking it into neutral was easier with the gear-lever more central across the top of my foot, rather than using my big toe.
