Ist to 2nd gear change. 800 S2R 2006
I will be the first to admit I have big feet. Only had the bike a short while and try as I might and adjusting gear change lever position I cannot get a smooth change. Usually goes into neutral and only way to get 2nd is to go down to first bring it to about 4000 revs and then it will go in but not always, all other changes are fine.
Bled the clutch no difference. The big feet reference is to say i do have a problem getting toe under lever and the throw from 1st to 2nd does seem long. love the bike but this is a real pain. Any ideas? |

Fit some smaller feet? Seriously though are you letting the lever return fully and taking your foot out of the way, so it gets a full throw at the pawl? Could be a worn detent spring, maybe? I've not heard of this problem before in relation to Ducati before, usually most have issues finding neutral (which is usually a drive train or clutch issue).
I thought I would have issues riding my 748 with motocross style boots (which are very chunky toe capped boots) but it was fine and the footpegs and levers on those are dinky to say the least, no problems with the monster either but more regular sized pegs/levers there.

Does the clutch lever FULLY disengage the clutch? If not, there is a screw to adjust the engagement point.

There's a setting tool for getting the gear change equal on the up and down changes, it may be yours is not equidistant so you're not getting full movement.
