Thanks for the welcomes. Had my heart set on a red one! Have ordered handle bar risers and some luggage to get me started, otherwise exactly as they deliver it. Will read the forum carefully for other suggestions. Can't wait!

Hello and welcome to the club.
Plenty of 696 owners around and 1100 owners too with plenty of modifications if you've got you heart set on new bits and pieces.

This is my third bike - only been riding 1 1/2 years:
Yamaha YBR125 - sold last week to make room for the Monster Honda CBF600 - my first big bike, did 2,500 miles in Europe in July on this, including the Swiss Alps - keeping it for long haul touring Ducati M696 - hopefully arrives this Saturday!!!!! |

Welcome to the club!
The 696 is a great bike, great choice. Did you go with the ABS option? |

Welcome - definitely a good choice. I'm on my second clocking up silly mileage, have a neck like a rugby forward - have just been down to the Austrian alps on it - off to Cornwall very soon and then the French Alps in a month or so.
Have fun Carole |

Welcome! The monster will without doubt be the most fun bike you’ve had!
I had a Thundercat in between my 2 monsters, so similar to your CBF, but there’s no comparison in my eyes. After a little commuting/touring etc on the monster you might find that it does everything (lots on here have toured Europe on monsters!)… then you can sell it to fund goodies for the monster! |

Which luggage did you go for, as others have mentioned a problem with finding any to go with the high cans? Welcome Free! The 695 is the best bike there is, so I'm not surprised you're enjoying it! |

Welcome and may I say what a good choice of bike !
I love my 696, and it did'nt disgrace itself at Brands hatch recently, even going round the outside of a couple of timidly ridden 1098s into druids :-) |

Picked up the Monster on Saturday! Wow! Brilliant fun, have done just over 200 miles already (in 2 days).
Luggage hasn't arrived yet . Radio works under the seat! Haven't stopped grinning! |
