reading article today about Liberty medias plans for MotoGP they want to make it , more trendy, more marketing , merchandising and celebrity and less about the racing like F1 to maximise return ,,, hmmm ???? also promote more social issues , etc etc eg: woke and boring and expensive ......re shape the engineering for less power , less tech and lower speeds and lower costs to increase number of teams

Moto gp vs WSBk
I’m convinced that world motorcycle racing is facing a crossroads….how do you square a prototype litre bike series with WSBk litre bikes …which in some cases are using an engine designed initially and primarily for a Moto GP project ?
And while we all love our motorcycles and watching racing, how relevant is it now when sportsbikes make up such a small section of sales ? Can’t somehow see much interest in watching an Africa Twin against a GS 1250, although Bagger racing appears to be enjoying some success in the land of pushrod valves….. A discussion appears to be happening within DORNA/FIM/ Teams about slowing down Moto GP for safety reasons and track design….but how can that happen without affecting WSBk ? Perhaps the answer is in a drastic restriction on fuel loads ? Anyway now that Liberty are on board expect to see many more of the Hollywood glitterati strolling up the pit lane …… |

I read it as on the same day, one F1 race and one MotoGP race, not car v bike…

anyone who’s done a tourist lap of the nordschleife knows how unsafe that sounds, you’ll have to redefine ‘serious’

Slob in financial journals Liberty media strategists and people from Fl planning have mentioned it , also in telegraph , FT and in Guardian ,, its not a joke these people want spectacles to make money , they will consider anything .... The design of the bikes is likely to happen 800cc less power , less electronics etc ,,, Its all about maximising return for the shareholders ,,, They definitely want to get Moto gp the same exposure and star factor as F1 has ....

It's not a done deal yet. CVC had to sell Dorna before they were allowed to buy F1 in the early 2000s.
F1 racing against bikes will never happen. Aside from the clear and ridiculous dangers the circuits need to be set up differently plus F1 cars are much faster. At best they'll do some exhibition laps at events. https://youtu.be/RXx3es2rcO8?si=fENu4DKEUc2U1___ |

It may happen, perhaps at certain events/countries that currently don't host one of them already? |
