1997 Marzocchi fork oil seals - can't remove!
My forks were leaking badly so I have disassembled them but I can't seem to get the old seals out - I have tried levering them, applied heat to the fork tubes, soaked in 3-in-1 but still no movement. I have removed the circles which hold them in place so it's not that....
How much force should it require? Any special techniques or hints? Thanks Jim |

If you've taken the circlip out they should just come out, but can often require a bit of brute force if they've been in there a while.

You need to clamp the lower leg in soft jaws or plastic shroud and if you have removed the circlip you yank the stanction like a slide hammer they will come you just have to be gentle brutal. You can warm the top of it but only until it literally starts smoking steaming not to discolour it.
