Road Performance Motorcycles, Oxford
Has anyone had any experience with these guys?
Im interested in a bike they have for sale but so far responses from the garage have been poor and the reviews I found on Google are 90% poor. The bike in question has been up for sale for some time, so now I don't know if its purely because of the price or because the bike is in bad shape and the garage is not being honest. Cheers |

If you're unsure about the dealer just walk away, there's plenty of bikes out there.

I don't know anything about this dealer. Still if they are not helpful and prompt when you are trying to buy, imagine what they are like when you have a problem!
Trust your gut feeling. If you don't feel comfortable, find someone else to take your money.

If they have 90% poor reviews, I'd run not walk! How can they even still be in business?

Because in this day and age it's not uncommon for people to leave fake reviews, either if they want to sabotage a business, or if they want to falsely give unworthy praise to a "mate's" business. Not uncommon at all....

I can understand that there might be a few haters and 'fake' reviews for them but 9 out of 10? C'mon!

Yup, it happens. Case in point Italian restaurant near me opened up and within a fortnight had got themselves a Time Out award, invented a load of reviews and left loads of bad ones for every other restaurant on the same street

As I mentioned before, I've had dealings with these guys.
I purchased a bike from them in march, everything went OK with the purchase.... The bike came with a 3 month warranty. In July the coil failed. OK its a second hand bike, with highish mileage (BMW1100GS) As the bike was outside the warranty, I proceeded to repair myself. On removing the tank, I found the front subframe, which held the front fairing in place, was held on the left hand side with three tie wraps! The head of the retaining bolt was rung off. The bike came with ( I was assured) with a full service plus a new battery. Even if the service was not carried out, the fit the battery the tank must be removed. There is no way the tie straps were either missed or alternatively they were fitted by the dealer!! Also, when fitting the new battery, they managed to allow the negative terminal to touch the metal tank, which was therefore slowly rubbing a hole in the rear of the tank! After several heated calls, the issue was resolved. Begrudgingly.

Thanks again for the feedback guys, it’s certainly helped make my mind up.
Grumpy, that’s exactly he behaviour I feared would happen. I’m sorry it happens to you and I’m glad it’s now sorted. Ursa I do get that it happens, but my alarm bells were ringing a while before I found the reviews. In fact they were the final straw before I decided to post about it. Pretty pathetic though, the lengths some will go to discredit others. |
