Mid-90s 900ss front mudguard

- I know it's not a Monster part but .... I'm after a 900ss front mudguard as the mudguard I bought 2nd hand and had painted black turned out to be a mudguard for the smaller SS versions (56430141A) and not a 900SS one (56430151A).

So has anyone got a version knocking around from an old project or similar that will fit and they could sell me ?

TIA, Richard

Monster and SS mudguards are interchangeable, but there are two types of forks used on both models.
You most likely have 45mm centres between the mudguard bolt holes on the forks.
They later changed to 65mm centres and used plastic bands that clip round the leg bottoms.
You can make a simple dropper bracket to pick up the errant hole. I think that can be done both ways? I think it's the bottom hole that's in the same position on both variants?

I have an early SS mudguard if you want to go that way, but it will need a small repair to a little crack where they all go! It's Red I'm afraid.
Equally an earlier (pre 1999) Monster 'guard will fit.

Gary,
Thanks for the update. I know that there are 2 variants as I've got the one that doesn't fit.

I had a look at the part number for the one I'm after (56430151A) on the Ducati parts list, and it seems specific to the 900ss from 1991 to 1997.

However, I've also been told that the ones from the 851 and 888 fit, but they're as rare as unicorn droppings !!

The mudguard does need to fit my Showa USD forks fitted to my bike and be high enough to clear the 120/70 17" front tyre.

If I do a web search for Monster mudguards ... are the early one the same, or is there a tyre size to consider as well ?

SS and Monster 'guards will fit all the tyre sizes it's just the mounting bolt holes you have to watch for. Once you get your eye in it should be easy to tell if they are wide or close from a picture.
The SS obviously got the "Superbike" forks in '98. The Monsters didn't get them till 2000.
So you need a '93 to '99 one from a Monster.

If you do get the right Monster one it will have a hole on the left for a wire guide for the speedo cable.. I've got a spare new wire guide..

Believe it or not but I have a 2nd hand built custom Alloy front mudguard for my 1993 900SS - sadly one of the mounting holes fractured away so I never used it again.

Pic upload isn't working for me so hope this is ok, feel free to make an offer!

Picture upload does work.
Simply go to https://imgbb.com/ and upload your picture.
Then select "BBCode fully linked" from the drop down menu.
Then copy and paste the line of code into your post.
