New (old) bike day ...

Just brought this 900S ie home, was advertised on FB locally and wasn't able to resist rescuing it. It's dirty, scruffy and runs like a dog at low RPM, but on the plus side it's got termis, an oberon slave cylinder and an ohlins shock, £1500 and it's mine!

Great find

Sounds like a great find, does that mean we are to look forward to a Project thread ?

38,000. Won't be a "project" just yet, no time, but will get a good clean, service and fettle in the very near future!

Very nice, I'd have taken it on for that price, even if it is scruffy as you say.

The Ohlins shock is standard on the Sie, as are the adjustable Showa forks.
You also get an aluminium handlebar, rubber covered footrests, carbon front mudguard and hugger, including a plastic mudguard extension underneath the swinging arm. The side panels were carbon too.
There's also a floating rear brake caliper. The headlamp fairing and seat cowl were thrown in too.

I don't think it will take you long to get it running sweetly.
The thing that let's the Sie down in my opinion is all the grey paint on the wheels and engine. I've fixed mine with a change of colour.

Best of the 900 series engines (ST cams maybe slight improvement), good suspension too, yup you've done well for the money.

That all sounds right, I'm tending towards valve clearances as the probably poor running cause, one cylinder drops in and out at low RPM
