Confused.com do bike insurance
hiya Guys
I know this is going to be frowned upon, but I wanted to plug my companies new Bike Insurance search engine. I developed most of it in conjunction with a few insurance providers, including MotorCycle Direct, The bike insurer, The AA, Kawasaki Insurance, and more... Its only just gone live, so is still being worked on, and new companies are being added all the time. But so far, the prices its returning are much cheaper than anything I've found looking around on my own! Free to use, just check it out, see if it'll save you some cash. And most importantly, let me know what you think! I can make changes to the way it works, or which companies we search. just need the feedback to take to my boss! At the moment its on the 'Other' section on the Insurance column, on www.confused.com Click other, and its on the left. Cheers all. Lemme know what you think. ok. Well first off. It doesn't include the new Monster 695 so I can't get a quote. The bike's been out for 8 months.

Used .com for the Blandit insurance, after Carole Nash quoted me an OTT price of £150 for a 6 year old bike! .com came back with £75 Since then the Monster and my car(s) and van(s) have been quoted through the site
Always good to shop around though |

I spent 10 minutes entering my details and got
"We're really sorry but we've been unable to look for any online quotes for the details you've given us. We have teamed up with several companies for you to goto direct" It looks like I'll be staying with ebikeinsurance.co.uk then. I hope they don't start sending me crap via email now. |

Toooooooooooooooo many screens and also not happy that I have to give email to get the search results no doubt leading to more junk email than I already get gave up when I got to that bit.

Might be OK, but won't let Tom ride anything bigger than 50cc ,even though he's 18 with a full licence, won't accept that he took his CBT when he was 16, needs looking at I think

"an unexpected problem has occurred We are very sorry but there has been a problem on our site which stops us from processing your quotation. We monitor all website problems, and we will investigate this problem. Please try our site again later. Hopefully the problem will be resolved and you will receive a list of quotes " Lovely I broke the site, I broke the site |

Hiya Guys
Cheers for the feedback! Right, we're having troubles on the site at the moment. Ebike and TheBikeInsurer both went down at the same time. Bummer. There are still 3 brands on there though, MotorCyclesDirect, The AA and Kawasaki. However, all 3 don't accept Modifications on bikes. So if you've entered any mods, you aint gonna get a price until I fix the other 2 brands (Wont be long!). We have cheaper rates some of the sites, meaning that you get a further 10% discount, than if you went directly to them, so please try again later! Now, the problem with some newer bikes, is that we have to update our lists as often as we can, but if a site we visit hasn't updated theirs, we can't quote! Our database team are working on getting the new lists up, and we should be able to get all new bikes by the end of the week/early next week. And as for the CBT thing. We have something in place that tries to mimic the UK laws. So If your under 21, you can't have a full licence, according to the law. If I'm wrong on this, please let me know! It may need adjusting. And Finally, on the Spam thing. We never intentionally send spam, in fact, we try and stop it as much as we can! Sometimes we get companies that we work with passing on details to salesmen though, and they may email you. So my advice, if it really bothers you that much, use a fake email address. it'll still go through fine. Keep the feedback coming, and I'll fix when i can. Thanks Brett |

You're wrong on the full licence,
Tom passed his full test 3 weeks after his 17th Birthday, he's just restricted to 33bhp for 2 years (he'll still only be 19 then) The site won't accept CBT date taken at 16 years old either - took it then to ride a 50cc. |

Hiya Bunny.
Thanks for the feedback mate. I think some of our panel need to take a look at the licencing laws! We currently have a filter in place for some companies that only allows : people over 17 to ride a 125cc bike. people over 21 to ride any bike. We are going purely on CC, as we don't have power output on our site. So we are assuming that if your 16, you've got a 50cc bike. If your up to 20, your only on a 125cc bike, and after that, you can ride anything. Does this not sound correct to you? Thanks Brett |
