Is that the same one that was for sale earlier this year?
Edit: looks a lot like it. http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/s...=Monster+turbo Price has gone down £5 though: bargain!

Rebuilt and turbo fitted by the former owner .. and its only covered 54 miles since then.
So the work has hardly even been tested properly. Maybe there have been personal circumstances which account for this but on the face of it you have to wonder why on earth anyone would do such a conversion and not even ride it. That said, considering the spec and condition, the price seems quite reasonable. I'm not a fan (pun) of turbo bikes myself .. they're just too messy, I wouldn't fancy the turbo lag and I don't really need the extra grunt anyway. On the other hand, this one somehow almost catches my interest. |

I've actually always thought that a turbo V twin is the worst combination. A turbo is not really suited to a low revving and fairly low power V twin engine. It does actually look a nice bike though and very well done.

Supercharging would be easier to set up and nicer to ride

Is that where it was originally for sale or just an exclamation? I thought it was a dealer sale when I saw it first.

It was advertised by DWR Motorcycles in Aylesbury last time: you can get to the old eBay advert through the link I posted earlier. They were selling it for a customer.

Shorrocks have been making Super-chargers since the 1930's.

A few years ago, Fatbloke, who founded this site, turbocharged his 1000DS Multistrada....
Fook, it was quick, small turbo, no lag and it spooled up really quickly, would wheelie in 4th and 5th gear, made somewhere like 140-150bhp on Woodies dyno. It's still in daily use about six years later

Yep, stupid fast.... quite savage power delivery, it needed a careful hand on the throttle

It looks interesting but why would you go to all that trouble and only ride it 50 miles????
For me turbos are a bit of a no/no - a supercharger with a direct link to the cable in your right hand (rather than waiting 0.25/0.5/0.75 of a second) is a much better option. But then I grew up believing the best car ever was a 1928 4.5 litre blower Bentley was the dogs Aesthetically the red is too much - or the black is too much - the design of the paint (where red and where black) is just ............????? wrong. And the contrast/starkness between them needs softening. Just saying ................. |
