Strange website issues
Hi,
Recently (last 3 weeks or so) everytime I visit ukmoc I have to log in again and ticking the little box to be remembered does nothing. Also this week being back at work from leave the forum is now blocked for some reason although this may be our security doing this part. The ssl certificate checks mention that some kind of certificate has expired so I wondered if it was linked in any way? Cheers Ben

we’ve never had a certificate on the forum.
try specifying http:// at the start of the address. some av and web security software may not like this. they sll seem to be getting fussier of late. the logging back in thing is probably down to whatever browser you’re using. you can change the cookie handling settings per website to make sure it always accepts the cookie that logs you in. i explained this for chrome and firefox when jerry asked recently but he never got back to me to say whether it worked for him. |

Ben
I had a similar issue. If I open up the forum on Chrome I get a security message saying the certificate is out of date. If I use Samsung Intern⁶et, there's no problem. This is on my phone BTW. Can't use it t work, our IT security block everything even some of our own Web pages! Dave |

post #5 for firefox, #8 for chrome re the certificate, we don’t have suffiecient access on the old server to do anything about this, the planned migration will fix this. as a workaround, put in “http://www…etc” if you just put “www…etc” modern browsers will assume https and throw a security error/warning. Cheers
I thought it might be something along these lines as the nhs system is understandably very secure and blocks out anything potentially dodgy. The primary reason I always use the website over my phone was that I found it easier to upload pictures.

We've had a problem with the server. It appears to be okay for now until I get an update,
but will probably drop out again until we can have a proper look on Monday at the earliest. Sorry about this, new forum is ever closer.
