Oakham Italian Day - Iconic
Grumpy has sent me details of an event being hosted by Iconic Classics at the Ashwell Ind Est, just North of Oakham, Rutland. On Sunday 19th April
https://www.bikeiconics.com/ https://www.car-iconics.com/ They are having an Italian vehicle day with guests including the Abarth Owners Club, Alfa Romeo Owners Club and DOCGB to mention three. UKMOC have been invited too. They have asked if we can give them a rough idea of numbers in order to gauge the catering. I've been to Iconic Classics and had a guided tour, It's VERY impressive. My good pal of many years has a neighbouring unit, he does high end vehicle re-finishing. He came to see us at East Kirkby last year and I learned then that Iconic were having an Italian day that very day. This date doesn't clash with anything as far as I know and the Rutland roads are splendid for the motorcycling enthusiast.. Let's start a list to get the numbers. Grumpy. Mr Gazza.

If/when we do return to the National Motorcycle Museum, I have worked out a route from Leicester which avoids the motorway drag and instead meanders through the leafy warwickshire countryside.
I had another trip to make in the same direction last year and made some notes at the time. So if we're on the bikes, I can probably lead the way for those who need to pass close to Leicester or Coventry. It would be good to meet up as soon as is reasonably possible after the lockdown period has passed anyway, I reckon. Even if its just for a group ride to nowhere in particular. Missed y'all yesterday. |

Was gutted this one couldn’t go ahead. Well up for a ride out once it’s all over & kind of happy to go anywhere.
I’ll be setting off from Doncaster but happy to head to Leicester and follow your route utopia. I can probably make the ride to Leicester more exciting than the M1 too. Maybe country lanes to Nottingham and then the same to Leicester. This could end up a 4 hour ride to Birmingham, oh the dream of it! See you all soon, I hope! Stay safe |
