Impulse buy

Hello all, just joined the Monster owning numbers this weekend after buying a Dark M800 ie on ebay. Not a good idea to browse and bid after a few drinks

Anyhow, well maintained with belts/shims done in the last 6 months by the mechanic owner.
Only issues are that the tank could do with a respray and the engine casing is are a bit furry.
Looks nice next to my white 848, just got to find away to explain it to my wife now...

Repaint the tank in white and hope she thinks one white Ducati looks much like another ;-)

Well done there, you could always say you're going to flip it once you've tidied it up ..... and you know just how long that kind of thing can take

Pretty sure that would work on my Wife, she can't tell the difference between my 916 and Guzzi LeMans because they're both red and make a similar noise - the only reason she can spot the Monster is because it's black!...

Welcome to the forum.

I can only quote the wise and witty Grumpy, when asked by a lady "How many motorbikes do you need?" His quick answer was " How many pairs of shoes have you got."

Welcome to the forum Steve , good luck with the wife

Or you could just remind her that YOU are master of the household, then duck.

Shoes, handbags or even cushions even might work.

In general no, it probably isn't.
However in this case you have bought a bike which is very similar to my own M750 ... which has been the motorcycling apple of my eye for about 15yrs now.
But you have a tad more performance and no carb icing to contend with.
Therefore I cannot fault your purchase in any way.

Welcome along.
