New Seat, new look!
When I bought my bike the seat had a small tear. I have looked around for covers, talked to some upholsterers, and finally settled on this:
Its a slight variation on the original, and will give my bike a slightly different look. The shape is more conducive to lowering the height too! I have requested a seat lowering mod to assist with short leg syndrome, added a gel pad for additional comfort (I hope) and cover. Unlike the pic, all the stitching & beading will be in black. I have omitted the embroidered "Ducati" as it isn't to my taste. THe seat will be made in anti slip vinyl which they sent me half a dozen to chose from. Total cost with shipping 150, which is 40% less than anything I found in the UK. So the seat base/ foam is now on its way to Poland, and I will see how it all turns out. Its a risk, but they have been very helpful and informative in the emails so I think its worth a try. Ultimately am covered by ebay and PayPal, so if it all goes spectacularly wrong, I should be able to find some resolution. Of course since Chriswilly gave me an original seat, I am covered and still able to ride the bike. I will post some pics once the actual item arrives back here in a few weeks (estimate is ten days). Fingers crossed...

Just fitted one of these! Arrived last week. I managed to get a completed one rather than have to mod mine. It has red stitching and the Ducati logo but actually I really like it. Will get some pics and post them if anybody interested. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet but it looks good. I bought a similar item for my bandit a couple of years ago and can recommend them.

Just spent 30 mins trying to attach pic! Cant do it on this machine.
Well pleased with the bandit seat, had it 2 years and its stood up well. Hoping to get out on the monster this weekend if the weather is good. Will have another go at the pic later. |

Thanks for the pics. I think it looks great, but then I am a tad biased... Are you happy with it after taking it for a road test?

To be honest it never even occurred to me to try the hump cover on the new seat!
Weather still not great so no chance to test it out as yet but hopeful for the weekend... |

Nice and sunny here today so finally had a chance to try out the new seat. It's very comfortable and I am extremely pleased with it. Looked great in the sunshine. I haven't tried to fit the hump cover yet but I suspect it won't fit - the new seat is a bit more humpy than the old one. Not an issue for me as the bike is charcoal grey anyway. Hope yours arrives soon Jez, can't wait to hear what you think of it.

I just checked the tracking and my seat was last scanned in Tamworth on Saturday. It just might arrive tomorrow!
Good to know you found yours comfortable too.

So its here! Whoo Hooo.
I really like the way it looks, and it certainly feels comfortable although I've only been on a quick half hours blatt along some local country roads. There is a gel pad also as requested. Its is lower as requested and whilst I've only gained and extra inch, its a good feeling (ask any girl). The quality of the work appears excellent, and the anti slip is a nice touch. The rear seat cowl fits with minor fettling. I extended the holes in the bracket and also reversed them (left on right & vice versa) so that the hole which allows the cowl to bolt on, is slightly further back. I suppose it has made the tail piece sit further back aswell, but its not noticeably different - at least to me. So very happy with the latest tweek to my bike. For £150 and a ten day start to finish whats not to like? Available via ebay. Here are a swath of pics so it can be seen from all angles if anyone is thinking about getting one. PS I have no idea why one pic is bigger than the others, post image must like that one best!
