Hello

Hi, Not a Ducati owner myself, but I've just bought a Monster 696+ for my wife, so guess who'll be cleaning and servicing it!
I ride a Honda CB1300S and have just put a Guzzi Le Mans II on the road after a one year rebuild.
Joined the forum to hopefully glean the tech info I'll need.
The 696 is a beauty, I have to say, an '08 model with 1920 miles on the clock (yep, you read it right ). The shop we've bought it from is replacing the belts and if they're to be believed, one of their spanner men is an ex Foggy mechanic.
Having taken it for a quick ride, and ridden a 695 a couple of days ago, I'm going to put a 14t sprocket on the front. Picking it up in 2 weeks.
btw, can anyone tell me what the + means; I've Googled it and asked the shop that sold it (not a Ducati franchise), but no luck finding out.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

If I remember correctly, what makes it a 696+ (as opposed to plain 696) is having the tiny weeny bikini fairing/screen (arguably more of a G-string fairing) and seat cowl. I think the 696 (without the plus) didn't have any fairing or seat cowl. I'm not sure if they ever sold the non + version in the UK.

My bike is also I believe technically a 696+: 2010 version (it has the adjustable levers which I think were only on the 2010 onwards versions). I bought it new in September 2009, have since put 41,400 miles on it, and my ambition is to get it up to 100,000 miles!
