Monster 1000DS - Its a bit good this one!
Afternoon all
Time has come to part with my 1000.... Ducati Monster 1000DS Feb 2004 on a 53 plate Black Mot until April 2013, currently on sorn 15300 miles Spec Marchesini 5 spoke wheels, powder coated last year Ohlins rear shock with remote preload adjuster Ducati Performance forks Aluminium swing arm in place of stock steel item Matris steering damper R&G front axle crash bungs Ducati performance carbon front mudguard Dark tinted screen on standard bikini fairing Brembo P4 calipers with good pads and titanium mounting bolts Brembo radial master cylinder - front brake Brembo radial master cylinder (billet version) - clutch Rizoma fluid reservoirs both side HEL braided hoses in black all round Rizoma bar end mirrors custom fitted to Oberon Bar Ends Magura Fat Bar conversion using S2R top yoke Ducati performance billet fuel cap Ducati performance gel seat Ducati performance carbon "arrow" tail and MPL tail tidy Ducati performance carbon hugger Carbon side panels Ducati performance indicators front and rear (folding type) LED number plate light MPL billet frame plugs Ducati performance open air box and K&N filter Power Commander 3 Sil Motor spaghetti headers Ducati performance high level titanium cans Sport Classic black belt covers MPL clutch slave cylinder Speedymoto alternator end cap cover Scottoiler fitted under seat with piping routed through swing arm to custom sharks fin in front of rear sprocket Stainless steel bolts fitted throughout Cycle Cat rear sets with remote rear brake kit Pirelli Rosso Corsa 3 tyres - new Other stuff Shims were checked at about 12500 miles and all were spot on Belts were changed about 12 months ago along with oil and filter Brake discs and pads all round are good, plenty of life It had a new starter sprag clutch about 2 years ago New battery fitted at the same time Head race bearings were changed this year Clutch plates are good and it has a DP clutch plate (I think, got a closed cover) LHS, RHS and clutch cover painted black Main cases show the usual flaking but not too bad. Chain and sprockets are in great condition, 14 tooth front sprocket Overall the bike is in great condition, there is a very minor mark on the tank and a small scuff on the fairing. All the carbon is unfaded and no signs of any cracks. There is two very small dents on one of the exhaust cans but they are minor. DWR custom mapped the PC3 after the headers were fitted, the result was a 15 bhp rise it power and a massive improvement in the torque curve - up around 30% at 3000 rpm. It now makes 98bhp and will happily pick the front wheel up in second gear off the throttle. It also stops incredibly well too thanks to the radial master cylinder and big calipers - two fingers for braking is all you need even in an emergency!! MH Racing set up the suspension, the handling is much improved over stock. The DP forks are compliant without being vague, not quite Ohlins but pretty close, the back is Ohlins so as good as you would expect. The new Rosso Corsa 3 tyres offer stupid amounts of grip and seem to help the bike turn quicker than the Michelins that were on before. Those that have ridden it recently will know just how good this bike is, it's nicely understated in black but goes and stops superbly. The bike was originally a Ducati UK bike, being used by their MD Tim Maccabe. It was then owned by Fatbloke who sold it on to me. As much as I'm reluctant to sell it, I'm just not getting enough use out of it and have some other projects I want to get started on. I'm not desperate to sell however so no silly offers please! Looking for sensible offers around £3850 PM me for contact in, bike is in Wiltshire Ped

Crikey I missed this!
It really is a beautiful bike.I have always had a soft spot for this particular M1000 ever since I saw it a good few years ago. Good luck with the sale. I wish I had the money to buy it or the space to keep it.

I've just sold bike mate and its been tough with loads of contact but little thats actually genuine.
With all those trick parts it would break really well (a shame) should it not go as quickly as you'd like - just a thought |

I've never seen this bike in the flesh, but I've always considered it to be one of the very best monsters around.
Tbh, if I was looking for a new bike, I think I'd take this ahead of a new evo. Seems a crime to split it. Sadly, I'm both too skint and too besotted with my 750 to be tempted myself. |

Hi
I would be interested in the wheels if you decide to split the bike. Best regards Mark
