M1000 - 100k

Hi,
Not been on site for a while but I was hoping someone can answer my query. My 2004 monster has just went through 100k miles and I took a picture of clock at 99999. However I was hoping it would go to 100000 as there is 1 present but reset back to 0. What I've noticed is on switch on I get a 1 which stays on for about a 2 seconds. Basicaly at 110000 the number will read correct for about 2 seconds, Now my question - have any of you guys seen 100k on their clocks ? On the ST forum one guy shows 100000 on his clocks.

Geoff

Great stuff Geoff, hopefully I'll see you out sometime in the year.

It may be of interest to log what you've done or replaced on the bike while racking up the miles, a lot of which I know is done with a pillion too.

Been great - use daily for commute all year since 2004. Have a 1098 tricolore with nearly 40,000 miles which I also love riding.

Geoff - great news about the mileage and Dave G above asked if you have a log of what needed replacing which I am interested in.
I guess you have replaced valve guides at least once but what about valves?

Hi,
Exhaust valve guides and valves at 35,000. Outside warranty.
Sprag clutch at 94,000
Slave cylinder at 6000. under warranty
Gearshft return spring 5000. under warranty
Two batteries
ECU at 30,000 under warranty
Wheel bearings nearly every 6000 miles. Especially in winter with road crud.
If only they had dust covers integrated into the hub. My 1098 has and I've never replaced the wheel bearing as I head towards 40,000
Obvioulsy chains and front sprockets. Onto my third rear sprocket.
Four clutch packs
On my third clutch basket.
One rear indicator bulb.
Several rear stop bulbs - converted to LED.
Starter motor brushes - four sets.
Alternator 20,000. under warranty.
Horizontal cylinder right hand HT lead. Changed twice due to arcing.

Service every 6000 miles - courtesy of Charlie/George Ducati Glasgow

NOTE: The mixture.CO and throttle bodies have never been touched since 35,000 miles. It took Charlie a long time to setup and if it's not broke don't touch!

Other cosmetic issues when puchased and handled well via Ducato Glasgow but didn't effect the bike.
