Ducati 916
I know there’s a few 916 guys on here. I’m looking for an early 916 that needs a bit a refresh retirement isn’t toooo far off and well you know the rest. Failing that I’d be interested in a nice clean one.

Have you tried the 748's ??
Bit of a revelation especially the more 'focused' models like the SPS and R's. Plus cheaper to get hold of.

And there’s the problem. I recently sold my 916 in a moment of. I’m gonna kill my self riding like an idiot esp at my age. And instantly regretted selling. So although the sp. sps are probably a revelation it’s the last thing I need.

Even a bog 748 is only a smidge away from a 916 in real world performance, the big plus is the handling. The smaller profile rear tyre means they love corners, they just smoothly dive in and carry the speed too.
Same corner at the same speed and a 748 WILL turn inside of a 916.

I hope you find a decent one. I was lucky and picked a Bip up in 2017 for £4500, with a spare swing arm and all the bits, I love it, probably the best bike I have owned. (Apart from my Monster)

I really really wanted a 916 to go with my s4. I opted for a 748 which dont get me wrong I loved but never delivered the same power surge of even the s4. It was however still sexy and agile and more revvy. I now regret 2 things..... not getting a 916 in the day when cheaper and secondly not hanging on to the 748 for all its ability and looks.

That was one of my concerns after having a 916 I just thought the 748 wouldn’t be enough. So the search continues;

I thought the 748 had a different gearbox as well... anyway, my 748 is actually 853 (plus lots of other tweaks) so 916 power levels but revvy and boy does it go.
However, if you want a 916 then tbh, nothing else will do so not much point even talking about 748s Check out facebook marketplace as they sometimes pop up on there

There’s a nice 748 on the market now but it’s really a 916 for me.

Tbh I wouldn't mind a 996 or 998 really. It's better but I get the early decal look and all the prestige that goes with it. Are they cheaper too.

Nothing to do with prestige with me I can assure you I just like the early 916 with all its flaws.
