M900 Sie lights issue
Hi all, have just given the heap (basically a 2001 M900 Sie) a MOT once over, all the electrics work fine individually, but use the idicators with the lights or brake light and you get a fairly random lot of flashing lights. i.e. turn the right indicator on both work fine, then also turn on the lights then the rear right indicator goes out but the left ones come on and the rear lght is flashing in unison? Any body got any thoughts, (apart from only ever using one set of lights at a time), thanks Bitza.

Sounds like you've connected the rear light into the indicator system somehow.
My first suspicion would be a wrongly connected wire or perhaps a short somewhere, from a nipped wire or something. |

Stiil not sure, If you put the lights on, no problem all is fine, but then put the breaks on and the indicators come on weakly & not flashing. I don't understand how everything can work OK individualy but then start other lights working when you switch on more than one?! This is really messing with my head. (oh by the way no LEDs in use). Thanks anyway Bitza.

Yep, I'm with Slob on this- bad earth somewhere.
I'd start looking around the rear light terminals as they're very exposed- a multimeter will be your friend while exploring !!

Electricity will always follow the path of least resistance. You need to make sure that the earth for each circuit is that path. Otherwise you will get all sorts of weird sh!t going on.

Well THANK YOU!!! Slob, Flip & Darren69, have just tried running a wire direct from the tail light to the battery and everything works fine & dandy, how a bad earth can make all that happen is beyond me, anyway thanks again I owe you one, Bitza.
