DRAPER Security bit set

Anyone looking for security screwdriver bits?

These may not be of much use on the bike, but handy for the tool box. i needed to have my Dyson brush head apart as it had stopped working. I didn't have a Torx T10 bit, smallest I had was T15. After various searching I found these on Amazon for £9.99 44% reduced.

Seemed like a bargain,more bits per pound than anything else I had found and more bits than I will likely ever need but handy to have all the same.

Aren’t Dyson’s fun to work on?
All those little fiddly clips and seals to dismantle the Cyclone filter!!

There’s certainly a lot of bits in that set although personally I’m not s big fan of the little hex bits into a handle as too often they get loose and end up being left in the fixing you’re trying to do up/undo.

I use Torx quite a lot so got a set each of these when they’ve been on a deal-

Yea, that was the hardest bit, getting the two clips that hold the rear sole plate free, after that it all came apart easily. It was annoying as I can see no point to the clips other than to maybe aid assembly, another screw in the centre would have been more than enough if they wanted overkill. One of the motor wires looked like it had been crimped between the plastic cases but after a quick clean up of the drive mechanism and a quick spray of PTFE everything was working ok and much quieter than ever before.

I'm sure the Halfords stuff is much better quality but the bit holder is magnetic and holds them quite firmly and for the amount of use they are likely to get it's more than enough. Plus I can use them with my T handle or ratchet driver and extension bars if needed. It really was worth the punt and as far a I'm concerned has paid for itself already, even if I never use it again!

I may even get some of those plastic pry tools and attempt to fix the DVD drive on my laptop in the new year.

What laptop do you have?

I don’t think I’ve ever used pry-tools (Spudgers) on a laptop other than Mac stuff.

Changed loads of DVD drives and converted hard drive to SSD

It's an ASUS, not sure which model tbh but when I read up on it, it said I needed to pry the case apart in some parts. Most of the other ASUS models have an outside screw holding the drive in which can be removed easily but for mine it is inside the case.

I've already got these, also the tor bits with the hollow centre but like you I was unable to take my Karcher washer apart to fix. I also found Amazon great and found a full set of t- bar security keys. The bits are no good for the Karcher as the screw heads are hidden and the driver for the bits fouls the casing. When I got it apart it was totally goosed but they'll come in handy sometime somewhere

Great job. Ordered these, save me grinding and butchering other tools to open all sorts of broken things for repair
