Restrictor Monster 620

Hi,
As I'm not allowed to drive bikes stronger than 34 bhp
for the next two years I would need a restrictor kit for a
Monster 620 2003.
Maybe someone removed his or hers and has one lying around?

Get one from Ducati - about £20 (or maybe less) when I did Tom's a couple of years ago

You also require the certificate stating the bike is restricted to 33bhp and unfortunately it has to a proper one which will be a rip off.
The company that are the sole distributes in the UK are FI International

It takes 5 mins to fit, so I wouldn't think it would cost much to be fitted by the Ducati dealer.
Local plod accepted an invoice with the reg no. of the bike and "fitted 33bhp kit" as the work carried out instead of an official certificate

Hi all and thanks for the help,
Asking a Ducati dealer is a good idea I might ask them how much these
washers will cost, as I just want the hardware and not spend over £ 100
for the alpha-technik certificate.

May I ask you Bunny where you bought yours in case I don't
find a reasonable offer?

Here in Austria these things require a certificate that they are
fitted properly no need to pay for certificates that are worth nothing.

These whole restrictor thing is also ridiculous as I passed my
test on an unrestricted bike (CBF 500), but being 19 I have to drive restricted
for the next two years.
I don't get it why older people who have never ridden a motorcycle
are allowed to drive unrestricted directly, according to a survey
most accidents happen to motorcyclists who start to drive motocycles
with 40+. My father for example has got really poor driving abilities,
he fears every corner but wants to drive a Vrod in the next few months
having driving experience of 200 km on a 125ccm bike .

You think that's cheap, how about less than £2 for a genuine BMW restrictor for an F650.
Not very relevant I know, but still cheap!!!
Brian.

Got mine from Ducati Bristol (UK) 0117 958 8777.
Just a throttle stop with a shear bolt. Bike would still do 100mph, just no chance of unexpected wheelies.

Just found the receipt
part no. 69922121A Derating Kit 620 M/02 £23.99 + vat

price correct Aug 2006 !!

Thanks a lot Bunny and all others who try to help.
Yes you're right, I asked a local dealer and I was told
that they will put it in including material for about
60 €, having to pay only the washer and 10 minutes work.
They do not accept the certificate, they only create
an affirmation about correct installation.

There is a similiar thread going on in the moment, maybe someone
tells him the same?

Oh and I do not expect making wheelis with 60 bhp and
a weith of about 100 kg .

Thanks people!

Hi Graham,
Guess what:
No it isn't, also you would be the first one who would be informed about
that.
Yes I know it starts getting really funny and all I know
is that it could be here tomorrow or maybe not.
But hey, I'm not angry, I can laugh about that at last .
Should have taken the Kawasaki, wouldn't make me so anxious right now
.

It will be here today, just a few hours to wait, I'll open a thread in the random
chat when it arrives not to spam this board unnecessarily.

Still waiting
