Halfords £10 battery Sale Yuasa YB16AL-A2

Yuasa YB16AL-A2 Powersport Motorcycle Battery at many (but not all) Halfords stores, for just £10, they also have a fair few other bike items on discount so might be worth a look?

JEZ!

Got one of these yesterday. Label on the box said it was activated in October 2020, and it was reading 11.5V in the shop. Took a chance and took it anyway and stuck it on the charger when i got home. will stick it in the bike tomorrow and give it a test. 30 day return on it so will give it a good run. not much to lose at £10

Thats not good at all. I bought one myself, charged it for 48 hours and its showing 12.6v. I haven't tried it in the bike as its in the shop for MOT & slipper clutch etc.

When I first saw this I thought Halfords were finally selling these for the correct price.
Back in the day when Yuasa was one of the better brands, I used to buy one every spring as they never survived the winters.
My 750SS came with a supposedly new one on it when I bought it. The first thing I did was take it of and I couldn't give it away.

My Motobatt is coming up for it's 8th birthday and just come through it's 9th winter without ever having been on a charger. I put it on the bike just as it came through the letter box. (I did take the wrapping off of course!)

That works out at about £8 per year... Motobatt, expensive.. I don't think so.

Are the cheap Yuasa's AGM type or Lead/acid and if so did they come with the acid already in?

By law all batteries should come pre filled with acid, unless you have a licence to handle acid.
