821 riding modes not changing

Has anyone experienced any issues with the riding modes not changing?

As I was heading home last night (it did rain all day and i caught most of it in the afternoon while on my way to work) the bike engine light went on while at a traffic light. I pulled over at the first side road, turned the engine off and back on and the engine light was not there anymore.

As I started riding though I got on the A13 and while trying to change the riding mode from urban to touring (as I do every day) it wouldn't allow me to do so. The display kept showing to close the gas and not to brake.

Anyone had the same issue?

All help would be greatly appreciated.

The bike will be heading to the mechanic to change the rear tyre soon anyway so unless the problem is fixed by then I'll get them to look into it.

Cheers.

Maurizio

Did you shut off the gas and not brake?

Have you tried it at a standstill?

For the EML light, I'd get the fault code looked at. Mine has flashed a few times recently and I've had some starting issues, but no issues changing riding mode. I keep mine in touring all the time unless it is really raining hard.

(Touch wood).
The error seems to have disappeared for now.
I did try the programs standstill and while riding but no luck.
It seems that it is now all back to normal.
I only ride on urban if the rain is really heavy if not always on touring.

I'll update the thread in case it happens again and once the mechanic looks at the diagnostic to see if there is anything wrong.
