Hey ho, we've all been caught out at some time!
Had you considered fitting Hypermotard oil lines?
It tidies up the timing side no end and makes it easier to get the belt covers off.

You can go further, and make up a starter cable 700mm long, which can be routed over the engine and down the left side to the starter, rendering it almost invisible.
