I have had a Shorai LFX18A1-BS12 for the last few months. Very light and much improved starting performance. I use the bike most days or run the engine every week if there is a prolonged spell of bad weather so have not really needed a charger, but just for a test I have used my ordinary charger to top it up a couple of times. During this very cold snap I have followed the advice of warming it up a bit by having the headlight on for a few minutes before trying to start the bike. Seems to help. The Shorai does not have any on board cell balancing or charge protection, which is a pity because it is not cheap. The dedicated charger and leads which will balance the cells is another £90 so I live in hope of a second hand one turning up. Between the battery and exhaust I have saved about 6 or 7 Kgs.
