Congratulations! Looks good in black. You'll definitely feel the benefit of a Cornerspeed reflash.
I'm not sure how much the R&G guard is (£45-ish?), but the 696 comes with a mesh cover as standard (46013431A) and is around £29 (or less if you use your 10% discount at Moto Rapido). I don't know why it wasn't fitted to the 796/1100 but it should just slot in (the shrouds on both the 696 and 1100 are the same).
I've not seen a clamp like yours before.
