A tool needs to be made from metal or wood that fits the bezel perfectly diametrically, then slitted and some means of pinching it devised. Best way for me is to make something shaped a bit like a banjo and slit the "neck" right down the middle to form two handles that can be gripped together... A risky business! As the glass can shatter.
I've already spun the speedo with a drill and cable to see that it works, but I don't think the way forward is to give it a lifetimes wear before I even use it?
