That's quite a stunt, 2400 miles in a day! Not just one rider I hope? I wonder how many of today's bikes would do that?
A Matchless G11CSR (600) did a hundred miles in one hour in about 1958. I think the rider was Bruce Main-Smith, but I can't find anything on the net.
They used a test track, literally during the lunch break. It used the entire contents of the fuel tank and finished on vapours.
Very interested how you set a Smiths odometer back to zero, I'd like to start the Norton from 00000 again after the build.
