One of the lock nuts is a left handed thread too I believe, but it is marked with a small slot. Mine were both seized so I bought an aftermarket one for a different model (one of the SBK models, can't remember if 996 or 999) but it was a bit longer anyway so I got the necessary ride height adjustment.

They are difficult to get to with a spanner and probably easier to adjust with the rear wheel off the ground and suspension unloaded.
