Nice try, but CV carbs don't really work that way. There is a dedicated circuit for cold starting, you might be able to start without it but it would be a bit of gamble and you would need some way to lock the throttle at that exact point. You can probably buy an adjustable jet for the cold starting circuit but the choke should do exactly the same thing in any case.

Do what Gazza says and oil it.

Well that's my take on things. It's probably better to keep to the stock setup and get that working properly in this case.
