Very interesting, especially the service schedule stuff. I remember reading MCN around ‘06, where they estimated servicing Lavilla’s BSB bike had needed around £0.5M worth of servicing to win the championship.
I’d always figured I’d call a trackday ~1K miles for servicing purposes, where Biggelaar reckon I should have been calling it ~2K miles.
My 1000DS is showing over 80K on the clock, I’ve done 2 full rebuilds including 2nd hand crank, rear head and rings. Plus a couple of new clutches. I actually reckon it’s done ok considering the abuse I’ve given it.
