There are some people who cross your path for a short period, then there are those who travel with you. To me, Capo was the latter.
I felt touched that Capo considered me a friend. There weren't many people who earned his friendship. We travelled quite a few miles and visited some cracking bike events together. Sat in his home drinking coffee talking bikes, Ducati's in particular, and the construction industry, which I also work in. Being in his company was always entertaining!
Being part of the group who put the bench together has been rewarding to say the least, and a fitting memorial.
A Capo's health deteriorated over the past few years, whenever the Fenman Motorcycle Show was held in Wimbotisham, he would sit on the bench watching the world go by, whilst being supplied with coffee and cake by us three.
Jeff's idea of dedicating the bench to Capo is a fitting way of remembering the old bugger!
