If they still feel too firm after your adjustments, you could consider the fork oil. The recommended viscosity is 7.5w (as you used earlier) but do you know what oil Brook Suspension used when fitting the cartridges? They may have used 10w.
Even if it is 7.5w, you could try 5w, which is what I've got in my Evo. I find it gives me the ride I prefer without sacrificing too much control.
