A spinning disk hard drive?? Very quaint bit of technology.
Having had such things fall over in the past I tend towards solid state drives with mirroring and an external back up. In theory the drives can survive the sort of G levels that would literally turn me into a mushy pile of goo !! My new laptop has a mirrored TB of storage (also dumps to one of my servers) and a single TB that mirrors externally to a different server and ferrets away in the cloud. Mass storage is very cheap so why not indulge

Mostly, as with Nasher, I just look up this weeks or this days best source and go with that. Very specialised niche stuff I've usually got in a collated and saved shortcut list that follows me round my various PCs.
