Look at the parts diagram for the gearbox, there’s a small bearing and oil seal in the end of the shaft.
Seal is cheap and easy fix, bearing is cheap but can be a pig to remove.

Ahhhh, sneaky, sneaky. Thank you!! I had visions of having to crack open the casing on my drive to get into this. Definitely wasn't looking forward to it. This looks a lot more promising.
