I will suggest to test ride one from yur local dealer............... :-)
What is 'safer' about the M696? My M600 costs pennies to service, access to the battery is measured in seconds and has never broken down on me (writing that is tempting fate I know! ). It has none of the electronic issues because it has none of the electronics! Not knocking the 696 but I don't think it's worth £1500 more than a 600!
