Wrong: you can also use an authorised ducati agent, or a qualified mechanic who uses genuine parts & is able to stamp your book to show the work has been done.
The law changed to stop monopoly from dealerships.
It is 'easier' if things do go wrong, to go through a main dealership, but it is not mandatory to use them
